FAQ'S

Why do you need to get a Home Inspection?

If you have knowledge of the property’s condition you will be educated to make an informed decision about your purchase.  A home inspection will disclose the various deficiencies throughout a property that could be expensive to repair which may affect your opinion of the property. A Home Inspection minimizes any unpleasant surprises a home may have: It may identify the need for major repairs as well as general maintenance required.

Once the home inspection is completed Royal Inspection Services will provide you with a detailed report describing the condition of the property which will allow you to make the best home buying decision.

Before you buy or sell a home in the San Diego Real estate market, ensure the property is professionally inspected by Royal Inspection Services.

How do I choose the right Home Inspector?

Call them and ask about their credentials and experience. If for some reason you don’t feel comfortable asking this of the inspector when speaking with them, then how will you feel asking questions at the inspection? You must feel that the inspector is educated, experienced and attentive to your needs.

Make sure the inspector you choose is a CREIA Certified Inspector and is E & O Insured!

What qualifications or credentials should a home inspector have?

When choosing a home inspector, begin with a list of CREIA Inspectors in your area. Then check to see who among them who is the most experienced and has the most outstanding reputation for thoroughness. Be sure to attend your home inspection. That way, you will learn as much as possible about the home from your inspector.

What will the home inspection cover?

Should I attend the Inspection?

We recommend that you be present from start to finish. However, some with busy schedules may choose to show up for the wrap up of the findings at the end.

Why can’t I have a family member who is a contractor inspect my new home?

This is one of the biggest mistakes a home buyer can make when purchasing a home. The person you are considering may be very skilled in construction, but they are not trained or experienced at performing a professional home inspection. Inspecting a home is a unique skill like no other. Professional inspectors get what we call an inspector’s instinct for finding issues. That instinct takes extensive training and years of experience doing inspections to develop. Many contractors, and other trades professionals hire professional home inspectors to inspect their own homes when they make a purchase.
